This ad required complete sound design within a four-hour time frame. I utilized sound effect libraries for the necessary sound effects and edited the music to match the ad's setting. I applied Audiosuite and plugins to manipulate the sounds, using pitch shift and EQ to enhance the audio.
All Foley sound effects for the student film were recorded using a Tascam DR-40 recorder. I captured sounds such as bottle popping, meat smashing, and egg shells, among others. The mixing and mastering of all audio were completed in Pro Tools.
The goal of the commercial was to process the recorded studio voice track in several ways to replicate the different environments featured throughout the spot.
My responsibilities for the Mastercard project included sound design, Foley, music, and recording dialogue lines as specified in the provided script for the voiceover talent. The final commercial was then mixed in 5.1 surround sound.
My objectives were to select music that matched the scene's mood, clean up and edit the supplied dialogue tracks, and establish the correct signal flow. I also ensured the scene met the required broadcast loudness specifications.
The tasks for this project involved sound designing to picture, adding ambient sounds for a prehistoric environment, and selecting/editing the appropriate music for the soundtrack. I used Audiosuite to manipulate the pitches of the dinosaur roars, giving each one a unique personality while maintaining a consistent sound to reflect them being the same species.
I collaborated with fellow Columbia film students to create and record ADR and Foley effects. Additionally, I incorporated sound effects from libraries, along with music and ambient sounds. The project was mixed in both stereo and 5.1 surround sound.
